Angelo Altobelli, Head Sommelier at Muse by Tom Aikens, hails from Italy. He moved to the UK to study medicine, but ended up pursuing a career in wine instead! His first sommelier role was at Jason Atherton’s Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social, where he worked his way up to the Assistant Head Sommelier position.
From there, he was part of the opening team at wine lovers’ paradise Hide restaurant, helping to run a huge team and ginormous cellar. More recently, he created the wine program at the newly refurbished Belmond Cadogan Hotel, just round the corner from his current home at Muse, chef Tom Aikens’ intimate and beautiful fine dining neighbourhood restaurant.
