The Bourgogne Aligoté from Domaine Dureuil-Janthial is from 35 year old vines on clay and iron oxide soils, in the vill
age of Rully, where the domaine is based. The viticulture is organic, and grapes are hand harvested at full ripeness. The wine is made using natural, indigenous yeasts, and fermented in five-year old barrels. The wine then ages for 12 months, again in neutral oak, in the winery's 19th century naturally cool cellars.
Domaine Dureuil-Janthial is one of the top estates of the Cote Chalonnaise. The family have been making wine in Rully since the eighteenth century, and now have 20 hectares in total. Vincent Durieul is a perfectionist who takes immense pride in his work; tirelessly working in the vineyards throughout the year, and rigorously sorting the grapes at harvest.
