Bill Easton runs two projects in the Sierra Foothills of California: Terre Rouge - which is his project for Rhone varietals, and Easton Wines - wines from any non-Rhone grapes. The Sierra Foothills are rugged, mountainous stony soils (mostly granite), and the vines grow at high elevation, contributing to their purity and freshness.
The Cabernet Franc, from the Easton Wines range, is styled after traditional Loire Valley style iterations of the grape. Vines are grown organically in the The Monarch Mine vineyard - a vineyard established by Bill himself. The wine making is low intervention, with a tiny production of just a few hundred cases, making this wine unusual and unique.
