The Bertrand de Reuil family was one of the first families to press grapes for the big Champagne houses in the 1900s. One of the descendents started this small, grower champagne house in 1999, with 2.5ha of family-owned vineyards in Avenay val Dor and in Reuil, in the Marne Valley. Pinot Meunier dominates plantings in the Marne, thanks to its mix of clay and limestone soils, and its cool breezes, which suit Pinot Meunier very well.
The Tradition Brut is a blend of 70% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir, and 10% Chardonnay. Half of the Pinot Meunier is reserve wine from previous vintages, adding complexity and texture to the wine.
