Edetaria is located in the extreme south of Catalonia, in the north east corner of Spain. The vineyards lie at around 400m altitude, with excellent soils - mostly limestone, with excellent drainage. Edetaria is named after the Via Edetana - the old Roman trade route that passed right through this wine estate.
This wine is a blend of two grape varieties - 70% Garnacha Blanca (also known as Grenache Blanc), from 40 year old vines, and 30% Viognier. Half of the wine is aged in French oak barrels, and the other half on its lees in stainless steel. This really emphasises the texture of the wine, and brings out some of the best characteristics of the two grapes.
