Elisabetta Geppetti was only 20 years old when she first took the reins at her family’s property in Scansano. The original wine made here was Morellino di Scansano which remains the mainstay of production. Elisabetta enlarged the estate to the current 75 hectares, and added to the range Maremma’s first Super Tuscan.
Morellino di Scansano is the local name in Maremma, Southern Tuscany, for Sangiovese. This wine is blend of 90% Morellino di Scansano and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It sees 15 months in oak, to add texture and beautifully round off the palate. Sangiovese/Morellino di Scansano can be a wine high in tannins and acidity, which makes it a very versatile and elegant wine to pair with food.
