Sophie Picheta, Wine Merchant & Consultant in London

Sophie was born and raised in London, but cut her teeth in hospitality in the Scottish Highlands, at a boutique hotel in the middle of nowhere. After moving to a slightly bigger town (Edinburgh), she worked as a sommelier, then at a wine shop, before moving back to London seven years ago. She was one of the opening team at Vagabond Wines, a hybrid wine shop/wine bar that now has eight sites around London. These days, she works during the days at a wine importer, and spends her evenings working with Richard on the wine list at 104 Restaurant in Notting Hill.

104 Restaurant is possibly London’s smallest fine dining restaurant, with just twelve seats. Chef and owner Richard Wilkins trained in France with superstar three Michelin starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic, as well as a stint in Gordon Ramsay’s Petrus restaurant in London. 104 Restaurant showcases the best ingredients, with minimal fuss. The wine list is small but perfectly formed, with wines ranging from excellent value to some of the most sought after bottles.
